Review on Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro XT: Superior Cooling with 240mm Radiator by Sam Bauer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is *the* cooler you can get for hot CPUs

I went through a SAGA trying to cool the 3950x CPU and the Corsair iCUE H150i RGB Pro XT is the only cooler which I think is worth it. If you want your computer to run at its base frequency/configuration and not overheat or freeze, this is the only option. Remarkably, this cooler is more affordable and cheaper than other coolers that are significantly inferior. Since your chip is square, you want to find a cooler with a square water block. This means that various coolers from NXZT and ThermalTake are immediately excluded. You need 6th generation pumps if you are using an Asetek outsourced cooler. You want as much cooling surface as possible (forget 120mm/240mm radiators, they don't cut 3950x, 280mm is borderline). Firstly, I mean the Corsair iCUE H150i RGB Pro XT, and *no* the inferior Corsair iCUE H150i RGB Pro, you need the XT version. The XT version has a brand new pump, the best pump Corsair puts in a cooler. This cooler has a heatsink with 43200mm^2 fan cooling. I've tried: * ThermalTake Floe 360, not cooling properly 3950x, idle temp 55°C - I've tried repasting 3 different thermal compounds, repotting the board, nothing gets it below 55 *idle* - considering AIO cooler, You probably don't need a tiny circle that barely covers your chip AIO cooler to Corsair iCUE H150i RGB Pro XT, boom instantly 10c cooler than the ThermalTake Floe 360 bullshit with little to no noise (balanced plan). 5 degrees cooler than the H115i with the balanced cooling plan. I don't care about overclocking, but cooling is *critical* for AMD chips because they have an internal mechanism that adjusts clock speeds based on heat. So if your cooler can't handle the chip it will run slow - meaning things like this will be similar to the 3900x if you don't have proper cooling. The benchmarks for the chip also jumped immediately, about 10% faster and more stable.
