Struggling to keep previously neutered cats in the 'cone of shame' I was afraid my new kitten would go through the same two week nightmare. I was just lucky to stumble across these amazingly smart "cat jumpsuits". I had some doubts that the cat would find it any less offensive than the collar, but it was worth a try. I bought two different brands and gave them to the vet with instructions to put one on before she was fully awake hoping it would be easier. The vet had no problem with this option but had her in a suit and collar when we picked her up. I took off the collar before we left. In short, it works. Because of this, she walks oddly, her legs are up as if she's marching, but she has no problem using the tray and hasn't made a serious effort to remove the thing. Best of all, she can't get her cut, and that's the whole point. At first I had some trouble getting the top tight enough so it wouldn't slip off her shoulders, but that was easily resolved once I realized the vet hadn't tightened it at all. It doesn't seem to catch on her neck or legs, and she has enough room to use the box without damaging her costume. I'll make sure the vet knows how well this works so maybe they can suggest it. as an alternative to its other customers. It made the whole procedure a lot less stressful for all of us!
