Review on Monoprice Weatherproof / Shockproof Hard Case - Black IP67: Ultimate Protection with Customizable Foam, 22x14x8 by Craig Sethuraman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent case, although

Honestly. This case is just as good as the Pelican case, which is more expensive, but even at the current discount price of $60 ($90 retail), it's still more expensive than the Apache 4800 Harbor Freights, which is $54.99 a regular combo this lower price with a 20% coupon and get the same case size for $44.99. That's a significant saving (I know the advertised specs show the Monoprice body is slightly larger, but the foam inserts are pretty much the same). To be honest, all those plastic cases are way overpriced, but the Apache 4800 is by far the best value for money, it even has four latches instead of two, so you could argue that Apache is more secure. Would I buy a Monoprice suitcase again? I would do this if I needed a larger case than the Apache 4800, unless Apache adds a larger case to their product line, which they could do. fit and tear easily. I used Plasti-Dip to extend the life of the foam but it will need to be replaced soon. For the price, they should supply quality foam and let the buyer cut it themselves.

Pros
  • a handy thing
Cons
  • So far so good

Latches very difficult due to case flexing... same construction as smaller sizes
