This is a good sturdy tabletop tripod

I needed a small tripod for a very expensive iPhone. This tripod has threaded holes in the legs. I made good brass weights that are held under the feet with these threaded holes to secure them. Now with the addition of the ball mount, it can securely hold the iPhone at any angle. When the iPhone is pointed straight down, it throws a lot of weight off center, causing terrible whoops that the build is only marginally stable. My additional weights ensure stability. I just snapped some shots on a quarter moon night and the iPhone 12 Pro is just amazing in low light. My setup on this tripod is very solid. You really don't need a lightweight plastic tripod in the dark. That would be fine for time-lapse photography, but I'd use the included straps to attach it even more securely if wind is a possibility. It would be a shame if you missed a great video of an approaching tornado being blown away by 50 mph winds. I'm new to using an iPhone so I tried to capture the moon but it was too overexposed and I don't know yet. how to shorten the exposure time. The shots of my moonlit house and the birdhouses against the sky are very good, but a tripod is needed in very dark conditions. This one worked fine. The 1/4-20 threaded holes in the legs make it easy to add accessories like brass weights or an LED light when I need light from different angles. Please note that the legs can be used flat or at an angle of approx. 30Β° with the red adjustment wheel. There are only two positions. (plus fell apart for shipping.) Didn't see this in the info when I ordered.

Pros
  • Flexible adjustment
Cons
  • Expensive
