Not quite deep enough

My gripe with these flanges is that the threaded part is not deep enough to keep the pipe from threading all the way through and then past the bottom of the flange (see photo).
If you mount the flange to a hard surface, this means that you can't thread the pipe all the way until the threads are bottomed out and tight. It might work for light applications but if you really want the best strength, you want those threads fully engaged.
