I don't quite understand the MEGAZ DIGITAL USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive 500GB. however cheaper. I posted the ATTO speed test results. I mean this is a 5400 RPM laptop so the results are about twice as fast as a USB 2.0 device. On the plus side, write speeds don't suffer from the NAND flash buffer overfill issue. Plus, you don't have to worry about endurance when shooting. The case feels well made and the 4.5W from USB 3.x is enough to keep you from needing a two-wire USB-A cable. If I had to ask why that is, I'd have a hard time finding a good reason. I think your money is better spent on a decent flash-based alternative, but it might be an option if you're one of those rare edge cases (like you want for NVR use) where write performance and durability are key, then this might work for you.
