It was very difficult to set up without a computer but there are some YouTube videos to help you with that. Getting a DMR ID is one of the easiest parts, but I've found that there's only one DMR repeater in my area, and that's UHF. You really need to order a new antenna, but it doesn't work very well, but I bought a Nagoya NA-77115" and the cheapest mag-mound antenna on Amazon. Warning: It's great for TX APRS BUT it projects sound that sends packets to the maximum volume and it can't be set, only changed with the computer software THIS IS SO ANNOYING!
