Review on Bestine Solvent And Thinner For Rubber Cement – Cleans Ink, Adhesive And Parts, 16 Ounce Can by Leslie Morrison

Great for cleaning video games

I am a game collector & reseller and I use this with a cotton swab to remove permanent marker, adhesive residue, and stickers from game cartridges, discs (the art side, obviously I don't use this on the data side), and plastic cases. It is so much better than using alcohol, goo gone, etc. It basically breaks down the adhesives and dries off on its own. For marker, I just keep applying and rubbing until all the marker residue has been picked up by the q-tips. For adhesive residue, the same. For stickers, I just rub it over the sticker, working my way from one side to the other, and the sticker basically peels off on its own. You just have to be patient while the paper side of the sticker soaks through and the bestine reaches the adhesive. You don't have to rub very hard, which is great because when you are cleaning those plastic covers on clamshell game cases, if you rub too hard you end up bending the plastic and it's very noticeable that were applying pressure when you are done. This, on the other hand, leaves no trace.I recommend this to anyone cleaning games.

Pros
  • USE ON MANY SURFACES – It is acid-free and safe to use on almost any surface, including most plastics.
Cons
  • The solvent can cause heart palpitations and irregular rhythms with prolonged exposure
