I put a screen protector on my 5th generation iPad Mini. This iPad is about a year old and has never had a screen protector. However, a protective cover is included. Follow these instructions and you can't go wrong. I took the iPad Mini out of the case and wiped the display down with the cleaning cloth and microfiber cloth that came with it.
