size and thickness are good. Suitable for a variety of different sized bowls and will not burn your hands. My problem occurred when moving objects in hugs. The bowls slid around causing panic. After pulling them out of the microwave with bowls, we almost lost the bowl. I also tried using it for ice cream but the bowl kept slipping out and I almost spilled a couple of times. Technically they get the job done (no burns or frostbite on hands) but the risk of falling or spilling already has us tossing them in the closet to ignore.
