The above mini ball head consists entirely of metal balls and body and is very well made. I don't use this ball head for the camera, I use it for pre-made LED panels (CN-160) so I can turn them inwards to focus the light, in which case they work exceptionally well. They are also very handy for my flashes. I very much doubt they can support 2kg, but half that weight would be more realistic. The only issue I had was that one of the ball heads was not fully tightened. I found that there is a set screw opposite the set screw that can be tightened to increase friction. When I did this I noticed a creaking noise so I disassembled the head to see what the problem was and lo and behold there is only metal-to-metal contact between the friction and set screw and the ball , hence the creaking noise. As my freedom of movement for them will be very limited it won't give me any problems and it shouldn't cause any problems with a light camera, but without some sort of protection this head probably won't last long with moderate use. However, it is a much lighter ballhead compared to other similarly sized ballheads, particularly the ones that came with my LED lights which fell apart within minutes. For the price I can recommend it if you only use it for light applications like compact or bridge cameras.
