I found pros and cons with this device:Pros:1. It's small and lightweight2. It's rechargeable which saves buying batteries3. The price seems reasonable4. It's easy to use. While it takes a bit to pull out the 'pin' which is at the top below the key ring, it's better than having it go off accidentally.5. The 2 key rings are an added bonus.Cons:1. Both my spouse and I didn't find it that loud. We set it off in an open space area and in the house. It emits a high pitched sound so it probably would be heard by someone nearby. It also might be useful in chasing off aggressive animals (coyotes) or dogs.2. The strobe might be annoying but it's small and maybe not that much of a deterrent.It's compact and maybe in a more confined area like a downtown area it might sound louder. It would probably attract attention so it's a useful device.
