1/6/23 UPDATE: My experience with their customer support was great. The registration process asks if you have any feedback, so I mentioned the USB-A requirement/quirk and that it should charge USB-C to USB-C. They quickly responded saying they would raise it to their product development team and two days later informed me that the team thought the idea was great. They said the USB-A requirement was due to a limitation of the battery but agreed with my suggestion and are going to work on supporting USB-C to USB-C charging in the next version. Also, the rose gold keychain that they offer as a perk for registering came quickly, within 4-5 days.Original review:I was looking for something like this for my wife who often has to park downtown to attend some of her volunteer activities. We're not in that unsafe of an area, but ya just never know especially in the winter when it's dark so early. I have no way to know yet if the battery life lives up to the claim that it only needs to be recharged every 6 months, but hopefully it's true given its purpose.I like how easy it is to use and it that its rechargeable with USB-C, HOWEVER, it's almost not really chargeable with USB-C . at least not in the way I think EVERYONE would expect it to be given that statement. This device has an issue I've never had with any of my myriad other USB-C devices; it's seemingly unable to be charged (no light, red nor green illuminates) from a USB-C source with a USB-C to USB-C cable.It charges just fine as long as whatever cable I'm using has a USB-A element somewhere in it, either as the natural end of the cable or with an adapter. In other words, any USB-A to USB-C cable works, as does such a cable WITH a USB-A to USB-C adapter, as does any USB-C to USB-C cable WITH a USB-C to USB-A adapter. But it would not charge anytime the power source was a USB-C port with a USB-C to USB-C cable plugged into it, which is non-sensical. There must be something not quite right with the device's USB-C handshake. It's a strange quirk I'll have to remember every 6 months, I guess.
