Definitely not waterproof.
I'm working outside on a rainy day. It fits great and is true to size, but moderate showers will wet you to the bone. They are great for walking in light rain but not for working all day in moderate to heavy rain. On the other hand, they are breathable, so you won't sweat to death like most swim trunks.
