Review on πŸŽ’ Large Backpack Rain Cover by Mountainsmith by Dragan Nelson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Broke almost instantly - you get what you pay for!

Bought in Medium to use as a cover for my REI Crestrail 65 Pack (I'm small so it's actually a 60L pack). When I attached my sleep roll to the bottom of the pack, the cover was very snug, but the Velcro had to fiddle around every time I put it on to keep it from sliding off and exposing the top of my pack to the rain. If I hadn't fitted a sleep pad the cover was quite loose but could be tightened without excessive material coming out. two weeks of hiking and I had to sort it with tape in the field. I've used it as a dust and dirt cover on my backpack when riding a crowded bus to the start of a trail, but I haven't put it through much stress or abrasion. I was very disappointed with the quality of this case and will buy a more expensive one in the future.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
