Review on πŸ–₯️ Laptop VESA Mount Tray by Mount-It! - Laptop Holder Arm Mount Attachment with Vented Notebook Tray and Laptop Tray Clamp for 75mm & 100mm VESA Monitor Stands by Eldrick Carlton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Won't fit 17 "/heavy laptops, weak side clips, poor attachment points

Purchased for use with Alienware 17 r4 laptop. It's a heavy and large (10 lb) machine. Attachment by mail, first What struck me was that the box said the tablet fits laptops up to 15.6" despite the product listing on Revain. Bad sign. Upon opening, I found: * Sheet metal is fairly thin; thick enough maybe for 3 threads. I don't think the quality of the threads is very good because of this; 2 screw holes held the screws securely but the other 2 wobbled a bit. Other reviewers have reported this (though I thought they were unlucky, I didn't realize that sheet metal was so thin) * VESA mount pattern doesn't seem very solid Instead of a full 75x75 square, the top four screws of a 100x100 template mount ver turns which means there is only about 12.5 cmΒ² of metal in contact with the bracket. This means that trying to move the monitor arm through the tray will cause the tray to flex quite noticeably. This is stated on the site here in the pictures but I didn't realize how unsafe this gets oh. Worse, there is another way to attach the tray using only TWO screws. I'm not sure who would do that or why, but it seems like it's a great way for your laptop to quickly minimize its gravitational potential energy. * The side clips on the tray are cheap plastic. And they don't feel like thick/hard plastic, but like super-fragile black injection molded plastic. Also, the "rubber" grip pads on the sides are NOT flexible/articulated. They are constantly forming as you can see in the picture. I wouldn't trust them with more than a 15" MacBook Pro. *Even if all of the above were fine, a large 17" laptop like the 17 r4 is attached A LOT to the back of the tablet, unlike the RevainBasics tablet ., there is no mechanism to increase the length so I ended up returning it without using it and instead received https://www.amazon.com/RevainBasics-Notebook-Arm-Mount-Tray/dp/B010QZD6I6 ( which at the time of purchase secretly appears to be an identical tablet for laptops Ergotron 50-193-200)
