Review on WAC Lighting R4DSDN F930 WT 6 Construction Recessed by Will Anderson

Good light quality, good light, but strong frame.

I just hooked this up. I have one more I need to install that I need a frame for. But this kit came with a frame, which was unclear when I first ordered it. I wanted to see if it would work for my basement application. At the moment I have a basement connected to 3 pot lights and need two smaller lights for smaller areas. I wanted them set up to illuminate those areas. on too. They work fine for this, but I've only installed one so far. The color rendering of the light is really good. I would say it would be a high 90+ criterion, with more emphasis on reds. I find I need to replace the bulbs in my other lights to reflect the high critical nature of these lights. I use High Cri lightbulbs in every room except the basement and dining room where I was struggling to find a High Cri candelabra lamp when I got it. Your frames are excellent. They are pre-cut so if you need to adjust a smaller spacing simply fold at the crease on both sides and snap together. There is a simple locking screw to keep it stable. I do not recommend using a cross sander to tighten, the hole comes loose easily. In fact, the screws are also easy to loosen, but I managed to tighten them well. The frame is very light. Personally, I've used 14/2 wire with plastic electrical box entry holes for this. It's low-power and doesn't need that extra 12/2 size for light-load applications. I don't even have an outlet to plug in afterwards. Be sure to turn off the circuit breaker when installing as an add-on rather than a new theme, as I did.

Pros
  • Recessed lights
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
