My tools became unwieldy and took up the entire work area and the clutter became incomparable with my mismatched storage boxes, bags, drawers, suitcases, etc d. etc. - probably a familiar image for anyone studying this topic. I fell in love with the idea of standardized modular tool storage and decided to give it a try. My impressions are mixed. All in all, this is a very nice box. It is made in Germany. The plastic seems pretty flimsy, it's some sort of hard nylon around 1.5mm thick, and at first glance you'd think it would fail within a week. In practice, it turns out that he fails. I think the technique compensates for the mass in this case, it has all sorts of interesting honeycomb patterns in the molding. Definitely a clever design. There is some foam on the lid to keep everything inside. The clasps feel solid as the construction is all plastic. That's easy. Really a very nice box. But the price is wow. If you are a mobile trader, constantly moving groups of instruments and very sensitive to the impression you make on your customers, I see this as a good solution. However, if cost is not an issue for you, these boxes are definitely a good choice. But if you're hoping to be financially successful with your tools, don't throw away your mismatched cases and ratchet straps just yet. This system is insanely expensive. Boxes are expensive, but in fact they are the cheapest part of the system. It's reasonably well made, but nowhere near as good as the Pelican case, which costs about the same. It's better made than a regular blow tool box, but still on the same basic level. It is significantly better than the bulky cases from Makita and comes off well with the Festool Systainers in terms of processing quality. But Festool adds Systainer to every tool. Bosch, on the other hand, is not afraid to price this system. Every possible aspect of the system costs a fortune. The tool trays are injection molded plastic, are only 1mm thick and retail for $30. Divider sets are $30. Foam costs $20. This is killing me, Bosch already has me for a premium tool now a premium box and they want to bang me the most for the plastic tray or foam which may have cost them a buck or two? The $300 Bosch tools don't come with L-Boxx or even L-Boxx inserts. There is simply no value proposition here. This box is good. I like it. I find the idea of this system very appealing and its design is a pleasure. But it's not all toolboxes, and after using this one for a while I find it impossible to justify the cost of buying a second one, let alone ten or fifteen more to fit everything.
