Review on BIPP Business Intelligence Platform by Delos Montano

Having used BI tools in the past and trying to find something suitable for my organisation I decided to look into BIPP. After some research, I chose BIPP because it seemed to meet my requirements - open source, SQL Server only, and a simple way of creating queries and dashboards. Since starting to use BIPP I've found it to be simple to navigate and get up and running. BIPP does allow you to create reports, however I prefer using Excel for this purpose. With Excel you can create and share interactive spreadsheets that give you more flexibility when formatting tables, charts etc. You can also manipulate the data using formulas. Once created, it's possible to publish them directly to BIPP. I am finding it very easy to learn and understand how to use BIPP. My understanding has improved since reading the user guide. I am now familiar with how to use basic functions such as group by and pivot. BIPP is easy to integrate into existing systems and add new features as required. Some other vendors that I had looked at previously required me to install software on each desktop before connecting to the BI tool. With BIPP this isn't necessary and the integration is very straightforward.
