Works great for Nintendont (Gamecube game files on Wii U)

I recently assembled my Wii U at home to play backups of my many Gamecube discs that are already badly worn and in need of a good polish. Once hacked, the Wii U can run GameCube games but cannot read discs or accept controllers like the original Wii. While Nintendont recognizes the Wii U Pro controller, it doesn't work with the Hyperkin ProCube, which I wanted to use to get the authentic button layout. My solution was to buy and use this controller which connects to a regular Wiimote. This controller is actually a Wii Classic Controller Pro in the form of a Gamecube controller. It has springy triggers, but they're digital, not analog like the Gamecube controller, so it has little impact on some games like Mario Sunshine (although it's still fully playable). The right stick is also not semicircular like the Gamecube controller; this is full size. Strangely, the sticks are different heights, but that doesn't matter. The build quality is normal, the buttons are comfortable. Spring triggers require the same amount of force as a Gamecube controller to push all the way down, which is needlessly tedious as they're digital, meaning you have to push them all the way down for them to work. Depressing the lug of the button instead of putting your finger in the trigger groove somewhat alleviates this problem. The Hori controller is basically a similar concept in that it replaces the analog shaped triggers for the flat buttons on the back, which is probably better, but this controller is around $40 and this one is $5. To save money, this works fine for my purposes. PS: If your key binding is disabled via Nintendont, press the "-" key to fix the problem. PPS: You connect this to the Wii Remote; one that worked with the original 2006 Wii. It cannot be connected directly to the Wii U. PPPS: Yes, that means you can use it as a classic controller on the original Wii (2006) or the updated Wii U (2012) console. God, Nintendo has really created a marketing nightmare for itself in this generation of consoles with all that stuff overlapping. UPDATE: To make the triggers more digital I disassembled the controller, removed the triggers, cut the springs and reassembled. This makes it easier to press the buttons. Additionally, if you hold down the L button while using the Nintendont, the right trigger will switch to half-press mode, emulating the 50% mark of the GameCube controllers' original analog range. Makes MARIO Sunshine 100% playable as you can spray it while running.
