About 8 weeks ago I fractured the 5th metatarsal in my right foot. After getting everything cleared up by my doctor, I started making the transition from the hiking shoes I was in to boots. I bought another brand of hard soled post op shoes and it was terrible. I bought these shoes as a replacement and they are a million times better! I wear a women's size 9.5 or men's 8-8.5 and these shoes are about an inch longer than my foot (perfect for preventing toe curl!). The ankle strap is very long and adjustable (you can see in the photos it's too long for me, but that part of my foot is narrower than usual). The rocker outsole has some flexibility but is much stiffer than normal shoes and very grippy. I would compare them to running shoes for traction (even though they have a flatter profile). I like the wide Velcro on the instep as this is where my kink sits and distributes the pressure of the shoe on my foot. The material is of very good quality. In these shoes I can ride and walk without pain, which I can't do with normal shoes at the moment. I'm so glad I found this and you can't beat the price!
