Review on 🚪 Carlson Flexi Configurable Walk Through Pet Gate - 76" Wide by Mayra Boyle

This gate definitely gets 5 stars for the idea but 3 stars for the execution. Here's what I know at the moment. First, the pivots are plastic. Having previously had a large, strong chewer, I could see how this can be a problem if they are interested in chewing on those joints or spend a lot of time constantly pressing/jumping on those gates, especially when the ends are attached to the wall. Second. , this gate is actually pretty loud. I have a different metal access door with a different handle mechanism etc. and it doesn't "rattle" as much. (I'll try to video capture the audio.) Third, the smaller passageway through the door has a number of annoying design issues. First, it doesn't open fully on either side. It opens about 60 degrees at the stops, letting it jut precariously into the odd space it occupies. Second, it does not remain open on its own. I attached a small bungee to hold it open. Third, the small handle that opens and/or closes this smaller door is inconvenient to use because it moves in the same horizontal plane as the small door itself. I understand it would be dangerous to chew on it if it sticks out and I can't suggest any improvements here. It just seems like it has to be somehow different. Two more comments about this little door. As with the rest of the passage through this gate, the small door rattles. My little dog is very careful when entering because when he touches it the door can move (see above) and the whole thing makes noise. Finally, the small dog door is actually big enough for my large dog (about 40 pounds) to fit through. I wouldn't believe it, but she could. (I've included a meter stick in the picture to represent a medium-sized dog.) Finally, it's difficult to order extensions for this gate. You get 3 sections with this product. If you need more than that, I STRONGLY recommend calling the company directly and asking if they have any suggestions as to what (if any) their additional extensions are suitable for your needs. I bought extensions from another seller here at Revain and it was a disaster. Product "Carlson 0400 24" extension for 1510PW gates" The 24" extension for Carlson 0400 for 1510PW gates is different in color from white gates and only 1 extension can be added to this main gate . You won't find this out until you read the product literature that came with the extensions. I needed 3 extensions for the way I originally intended to use this gate and had to send them all back with shipping. Although I can't use this gate to solve the problem I was originally trying to solve, I'm keeping it. I need something and don't know of any other options at the moment. I do not like that.
