Review on πŸš— Tenq Stainless Steel Car Antenna Mount Clip Bracket with 5m Cable - Trunk Lid Hatchback Mount for Mobile Vehicle Radio Car Two Way Radio Antenna by Barry Taylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Seems to be a good mount.

Just installed this bracket on my VW Beetle hatchback. It supports HYS quad-band mobile antennas (10/6/2 m and 70 cm) with a height of about 1.3 m (51 inches). It seems to hold the antenna well, but so far I've spent little time at highway speeds. I will update this review as needed. I had to bend the back piece of metal to fit the mount on my Beetle, but that's not the mount's fault. With the large antenna attached, it looks sturdy and durable. Pros: Good price for a lip mount with coax cable. All necessary Allen keys are included in the scope of delivery. Fits well on my VW hatchback. Cons: I accidentally put the coax next to the magnet and the coax got stuck on the magnet! This tells me that the iron mesh is most likely steel. I don't know how this affects impedance or rate/loss characteristics, but I suspect the coax isn't the best quality. The coaxial cable is marked "RG-58U" so it's probably not a problem for a short distance (5m).

Pros
  • 2-axis adjustment offers flexibility in choosing the mounting location, ie. Boot lid, hatchback, vertical door, etc.
Cons
  • Modern
