Well made, inexpensive but annoyingly shiny, BBQ grease won't wash off White Apron

This apron has many advantages: It is good value for money ratio, it's made from a comfortable, mid-weight fabric, it features an adjustable neckline, long drawstring cords, and machine snaps at the pockets and neckline for durability Three things I didn't like about his apron: 1) On there were a few streaks of grease on the sides of the apron (but that wasn't the deciding factor for me); 2) that brilliant shimmery sheen to the fabric; and 3) I put it on once, cleaned the giant grease trap and grill, and the black, greasy grill marks left on the apron were not washed off I used a degreaser, wiped it off after washing but si e are still present. Lubrication somehow strangely ingrained and does not come out. Maybe it's the shiny surface. It is mainly made of polyester, so normal bleach cannot be used. I used a safe substitute for bleach and it didn't remove any oil stains either. I now have an apron that has been washed twice, brushed, greased and bleached and looks dirty. I can't wear this again. So if you're using it for an application where it won't be exposed to normal kitchen dirt, like in a commercial setting, then this apron will likely come out of the wash clean. If you have flour etc on it. But if you have dirty, greasy pots to clean or are around blackened grills I would steer clear of this white apron as after one use it is unpresentable and still looks dirty.

Pros
  • .017" - medium thickness, approx. 0.48 lbs - comfortable to wear
Cons
  • fades
