I've been shooting with my Sigma 18-35 and Nikon 24-70 for a while and I've missed the simplicity of my other lenses' built-in tracking rings, but that's no longer my problem. This particular trail gear is one of the best purchases I've ever made in my gear. It's the right size and comes in a professionally padded box and feels sturdy enough for a discerning user like me. The fit is snug, but it should be (who needs loose tracking gear). I have found that the best way to install them is to remove the small label inside and apply a very small amount of baby oil to the inside of the ring and then slowly and firmly press it against the lens and hold it in place and spot to draw a small portion at a time. Time. This has allowed me to keep even the weakest rubber grips on my Nikon in place and the carry gear tight. I personally think that I will soon be modifying all my lenses in this way.
