The image resolution isn't the highest, but it's close to the quality I would expect from an instant camera. I tested printing photos taken on the iPhone 7 Plus and on the camera itself. The photos printed from my iPhone are much better than the ones taken by the camera itself. So as a photo printer for my phone, it does a great job if you want to share instant prints. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to shoot with the camera myself. I think the picture is either too dark or overexposed. It might just be too much not finding the sweet spot when it comes to lighting just yet. All in all, this is a fun instant printer, but don't expect print quality to be the same as if you printed from Walgreens. It can serve better as a phone photo printer than a camera. I wonder if just getting an Instax SP-2 printer wouldn't be better, but they seem hard to come by - maybe LiPlay is meant to replace it. In terms of quality, I find that I get better photos from my phone with the SP-3, which prints photos in square format. I'm not sure I can recommend LiPlay over the SP-2 printer for 2x3 instax images.
