Review on Hyperkin FreeStep VR Cable Management Solution for Enhanced Gaming Experience ๐Ÿ”Œ with HTC Vive Pro/ HTC Vive/ PS VR/ Oculus Rift (6 Sets) by Shalom Germann

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ideal for HTC Vive ceiling mount.

Took me about 5 hours to get my setup right the way it was, but after that it works great! I lost maybe 2 inches of clearance around the edges because of the length of the retractors, but it's worth it. I just tried Holopoint, which is pretty much a "torture game" to set up cable control. I didn't even notice the cable (it hit me several times from the top of the head, but it never bothered me). If your rig is smaller than mine (about 4 meters long) you don't have this problem at all. I've had the Vive since day one, so I'm used to just walking around and handling the cord, but on Fallout 4 I made a lot of quick turns, to get up the stairs. and it was getting annoying. This completely solved this problem. I installed 2 of these in the same spot and attached them to a cable fairly close to the Vive itself. So it has enough retraction force to pull the cable out of the way when you come back, but you still won't feel it pulling you in. Make sure you place these two right in the middle of your room. Initially I mostly ran them the full length as I had a few extra cords from the extensions I used and didn't think about it. The rest I installed on the ceiling, just keep the cable in order with no problems. Sticky pads are more than sticky enough. The sticky elements on the retractor itself are also more than sticky enough if you want to skip the pads.
