I am a home mechanic responsible for the safety of 4 cars on the road. One day with my family this should be a full time job! I got tired of the cannonball approach and finally bit the bullet and got a bi-directional code reader. I saw a review of xTool D7 on YouTube and thought this was what I was looking for. I noticed the D8 when I was looking for the D7 and I don't know what the exact differences are, but the D8 was great. I used it to track down a faulty IAC servo on our 2001 Subaru Forester which saved me the trouble of buying good fuel injectors! I would definitely recommend this OBDii tool. I would recommend watching South Main Auto Repair on YouTube for great tutorials on tracing bad components and wires!
