Review on πŸ“± Enhanced Control: DIRECTV RC73B Universal Backlit Remote for Easy Navigation by David Romo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Backlight costs extra money

I replaced an old DirecTV remote with this one. This one is more responsive. Even after changing the battery in the old one, it knocks the pants out of the other one! There were times when I had to wait 5-7 seconds for certain answers. This remote is a little shorter but feels a little thicker when I hold it. The button layout is slightly different and takes a while to get used to (I remember the button layout on the old one and I could press all the buttons without looking). The colored buttons are gone, but I'm sure their functions can be found in other buttons (there's a red button that can still be used to uninstall programs). Also, the guide and list buttons are now at the top, which unfortunately I used the most. There is also a click when pressing some keys, but it doesn't bother me at all. Now, according to RC73, the letter "B" means "backlight". This is such an underrated feature. I like the backlight function. It's worth paying a few more euros for. It lights up when you press the buttons, but there's a side button that also turns on the light. sticker and key location legend). Programming is easy once you get the code. Also, the switch at the top doesn't have to be moved like older remotes, there's actually no switch.
