This FOB is slightly longer than the standard 2011 Chevrolet Corvette FOB (see photo). I only mention this because it would be nice to just swap out the front half (frame) of the fob, but that's not an option. You can replace the physical key and avoid having to create a new key. I was able to use pliers on the back of my original FOB to deform the back of my old FOB just enough to remove the Corvette badge without damaging it. Once removed I used super glue to glue it to this new shell. The emblem sticks out a little more than it does on the OEM FOB, but it's not really noticeable. This FOB replacement case includes a battery holder that is not pre-installed. It is extremely important that the battery lock bracket is properly seated in the key fob body prior to assembly. Actually I had to repeat the assembly of the FOB once to position it correctly. The battery clip has a pair of metal probes that must face up to make contact with the circuit board in the key fob. Putting everything together correctly and connecting the two halves together is no easy task. The OEM FOBs I saw advertised were very expensive so it was worth the hassle.
