Review on 🔒 New York Lock M-18WL with Kryptonite 994589 by Sam Faucher

The lock came quickly, well packaged. As for the lock itself, I've been using it for a little over a week, so I have no comments on durability. As others have pointed out, this is a severe lockdown, no question about it. However, it's actually easy to carry around on a bike. I attach it to the rack with velcro straps and it doesn't rattle when the bike is in motion. Even when cycling I don't notice its weight. The locking mechanism has worked flawlessly so far. The U-shaped piece fits easily through wheel, bike frame and bike rack attachment points. It looks solid, or at least more solid than the locks on other bikes parked at my place of work, so I'm hoping it gives me some extra security. I'll comment on durability later, although I've used two previous generation kryptonite locks for years with no problems. I don't expect any problems there either. December 2016: I have used this lock almost every day of the week with no problems. The lock has been exposed to rain and mud without affecting the lock mechanism. So far there is no sign of rust. The extra weight really isn't a problem.
