You can hang an 80# rod.

I used them to install a giant cedar top for my bar. I knew I was asking a lot from a product but thought it was worth a try. I used 5 of the 6 and placed them where 2 of the 4 screws on each bracket met the studs. Holes drilled and inserted. Much easier to install than I thought. It wobbles a bit but is very solid when you push the bar down. Overall very happy with it.
