Review on πŸ” Enhanced Search-Engine-Optimized Delkin DDREADER-42 USB 3.0 Universal Memory Card Reader by Mike Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy-to-use card reader, images transfer quickly!

I've been using a USB 2 card reader for many years, it's good for hundreds of pictures but becomes a problem with many pictures. I have used a Belkin USB 2 media reader which works well and has been a reliable workhorse for many years. But with more images to transfer and USB 3 available, I decided to upgrade. This inexpensive multicard reader accepts all cards listed in the description and is FAST! 20-30 minutes USB Reader 2 transfer now takes 3 minutes. Huge difference. USB 3 vs USB 2 – day vs night. Although I still have a working USB 2 reader I'm so glad I got it. It also reads micro SD cards, so I'm prepared for anything. This will handle my XD with an Olympus underwater camera, my SD with a Canon G7X, my Canon Rebel EOS (SD) daughters and my Canon 40D compact flash cameras. If I decide to use a microSD adapter for an XD card, I'm protected too. I read a few reviews that said it had poor build quality. These devices are just a circuit board and a few connectors in a plastic case. My Belkin has lasted over 8 years and the build quality is the same. Belkin replaces a cheap device even though it was a steal. For a few dollars more, Belkin lasted for years. This device isn't the cheapest, but it's only a few bucks more expensive. On visual inspection it looks nice and weighs about the same as an old Belkin so I think it will last a long time. The included cable has a USB 3.0 Micro-B connector on one end of the device and a USB 3 Type-A male connector on the other end that connects to your computer's USB 3 ports. A USB 3.0 Micro-B to USB 3 Type-A cable is included. You won't notice any speed advantage if you connect it to a USB 2 port on your computer. Connecting to a USB 3 port will make you happy! If reviewers don't see the speed giants, they're probably using a USB 2 port. USB 3 connectors have a blue plastic insert that identifies them as USB 3.
