There is no timeline, but I always left another in the same place, so the tool's simplicity is attractive. It's easy to use and the curls are gorgeous. Hair does not slip when curling, very easy. My hair is quite thick and long, it curls well and this is my favorite curling iron that I have used. Well, it's not about iron, it's about old habits, it dies hard. I haven't noticed any damage, but I do use thermal protection in my air conditioner.
