This is the cleaner recommended by my carpet dealer. It also cleans and replaces R2X Stain Protection. You use paper towels or a rag to soak up the spilled liquid. Spray and blot again with paper towels. Don't rub. I do this until the "color" of the stain on the paper towel disappears. However if you have cats that vomit a lot that's not always enough and I have to use Woolite Foam Cleaner first and when the area is dry I apply that instead of a stain guard. I haven't used it on anything like a port stain so no comments here. I also found an old stain behind some furniture that I've never seen before. Someone spilled something, maybe coke, during the party and didn't tell me. It was dried and this product did not remove the stain, had to resort to two coats of wool but remember this product did remove the stain protector.
