It has a function and it definitely serves it. I don't have the Switch so I can't test this functionality, but it's perfect for gaming on PC. Just make sure the PC/Console switch is set to the correct position. Keep in mind that it doesn't work perfectly with RetroArch and it can be a bit tricky to set up. RA doesn't automate this adapter for simplicity, but that's not the adapter's fault. I'm using standalone Project64 and had no problem getting both the original controller and Retro Brawler to work.
