Great deal for the money!

Great lens for the money! Early last year I bought a used A7II that came with a kit lens and a Sony 1.8/50 and I've enjoyed it, but I've always wanted to get closer shots than the 28-70mm could. Kit lens allows, and to be honest the quality was inferior. it is great. So I went looking for a telephoto lens and was pretty shocked. I did a little digging and found a new Tamron 70-300 for a fraction of the cost of Sigma, Sony, Zeiss etc. I've often been convinced that you get what you pay for, so I really had to do some research to see if it's a good lens because it was significantly cheaper than any other lens in the full-frame E-mount category. I've watched many lens review videos, reviewed dozens of sample photos, and found the price well worth it. Of course it's not perfect, some focal lengths have darker corners or slight distortions, but to be honest it won't fix anything if post processed with Lightroom. For the price, I'm happy to fix some small things in the mail to pay a fraction of the cost of the Sony lens. I honestly liked this lens so much that I recently got a Tamron 17-28 and will probably get another 28-70 to complete my trio.

Pros
  • Lenses for cameras
Cons
  • A few little things
