These are super light needles with a flexible cord. The material of the needle is smooth but has more friction (less slippery) than metal but feels more comfortable than most plastics. As advertised, the cord has no memory so it doesn't twist in a way that makes knitting uncomfortable, and it's not stiff. The needles have a slight burr at each point, making them comfortable and a little less prone to dropped stitches. Considering how light they are, it's almost like knitting without anything. I really like them and wish they were bigger. I'm sure there will be projects in the future that I want to do with them.
