I'm a mechanical engineer and was blown away by this mount. It's so simple, so well designed, so fluid, it does everything well. I bought a Manfrotto tripod with a ball head. My first tripod with a ball head. It sucks pretty bad (ball head, no tripod). Why? Because everything is a ball, everything is kind of wobbly. What I like about it is the swivel function. Lock the camera, then rotate the knob and pan. Yes I have an old bow and it swings and takes three hands and I love it but this head is really cool. One grip for the ball, the other for the pan. Yes I know we are all different. But a dedicated pan function really does it for me. Did I mention it's REALLY well designed?! The only thing that bothers me is that the QR sign was not included. It seems silly when you pay that much not to include a QR sign.
