The best camera ball head I've ever used.

I photograph studio products (full time) and make a living and I feel stupid that I didn't buy one a few years ago. This simplifies the task of maneuvering the camera and then fixing it like concrete with a simple twist. I have had many premium ball heads. This easily dominates anything I've ever used. Incredible design. Worth more than I paid for it (yes, I'm serious).

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great design. in Camera & Photo

Acratech i'm at ball head is a solid device and of the ball heads I've tried this is by far the best in terms of design, build quality, durability and most importantly Handling. Most tripod heads, like the Manfrotto heads, are made from die-cast metal, but this one is CNC-machined from aluminum, giving it more of an aerospace quality. I like the black matte finish and the location of the cocking knob.

Best ball head I have ever used

I don't know why a good one costs so much (3 times more than my previous 2) but this will be my last ball head. Works easily and smoothly. There is a point deduction because the quick-release plate had to be purchased separately. There must be a reason, but I don't understand it. The buttons on the AUB work well, hold their position and the device itself is nice and light but works well. Easily maneuver between horizontal and vertical positions. I highly recommend this ball head.

Pros
  • understandable even until the old
Cons
  • was damaged

Amazing quality. good for tripods and monopods

This is as close to a perfect ball head as I can imagine. And I have a vivid imagination! The movements are smoother than silky and the lock is firmer than Fort Knox. The accuracy of this head is so good, you'll think your camera is floating, until you give a tiny twist of a knob and the universe falls into place. Is it expensive. Sorry but if you think about the time it takes to set up and trust that the cost is almost negligible. Enjoy life. Take this ball head.

Pros
  • comfortable
Cons
  • unreliable

Excellent.: Tripod heads

I first saw one when I found a forgotten tripod in Death Valley. I was blown away by the ease of use and ease of use, as well as the lightness (especially on a carbon fiber tripod). I've been using it ever since and I love it. Very predictable and solid and moves easily through setup, firm but agile until the bezel appears, then a smooth twist and it's fully locked. I've had an Arca-Swiss B1 for years and it's a great ball head but it's a heavy pup. I can't get rid of it, but the Acra (not…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Costs more than my tripod. well worth it

I'm a mechanical engineer and was blown away by this mount. It's so simple, so well designed, so fluid, it does everything well. I bought a Manfrotto tripod with a ball head. My first tripod with a ball head. It sucks pretty bad (ball head, no tripod). Why? Because everything is a ball, everything is kind of wobbly. What I like about it is the swivel function. Lock the camera, then rotate the knob and pan. Yes I have an old bow and it swings and takes three hands and I love it but this head is…

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • sad packaging
