I first saw one when I found a forgotten tripod in Death Valley. I was blown away by the ease of use and ease of use, as well as the lightness (especially on a carbon fiber tripod). I've been using it ever since and I love it. Very predictable and solid and moves easily through setup, firm but agile until the bezel appears, then a smooth twist and it's fully locked. I've had an Arca-Swiss B1 for years and it's a great ball head but it's a heavy pup. I can't get rid of it, but the Acra (not Arca) is my favorite tripod. (Lost the tripod? I did the right thing not to keep it and dropped it off at the visitor center; the owner came and returned it: a happy ending to this story.)
