Failed to load media. We are an upholstery shop that almost exclusively uses Kai scissors. We usually buy them at our local sewing shop, but on a whim I ordered this pair for one of our Revain guys. Almost immediately I noticed some problems: the tips of the scissors are not pointed, but rounded. And the scissors just won't cut the material through the center of the blades. I am including pictures and videos showing the difference between a 'new' pair of scissors and a LOT of old scissors that have been sharpened many times. The larger 7280s are the "new" scissors for stills. You can see the difference in the logos. In the video I used the third pair to cut the fabric, they were even bigger than the 7280, this is the second pair I use and they cut the fabric crisp and clear with no problems. They are used intensively (5 hours a day, 5 days a week) and are at least 3 years old. The new (smaller) pair can't even make a clean cut. I'm not sure if they were incorrectly sharpened at some point (where?), or maybe it's "seconds"? Either way, a brand new pair of Kais is a sight to behold, and these just *are* not. You come back and we stay with our local guy. I will no longer buy online.
