Some basic features make it hard to like.

I was very excited about this tripod as it is my first high end tripod as I get more serious about my photography. The build quality seems really great and I love the versatility of the center column. However, one of the biggest downsides that might make me hate the tripod is the "half" blockage (for lack of a better term) for the legs. If you lock the legs at 20 degrees, they can still move to zero, so only extension locks them. So let's say you rotate them 40 degrees or even more, they all have moves to slide into. When your camera is in the right position, especially for macro photography, these legs move back and forth and aren't as stable as you need them to be. Extremely frustrating, especially when you have to move the center column multiple times to get different angles. They really had to make the legs so that they could be fully locked in one position. I was also a bit skeptical about tripods with swivel legs, but as advertised it's just a quarter turn and the latch "snaps" into the locked position. Well no it's not, it's as tight as it gets. I've already had issues with my legs not staying in the locked position and sliding down when trying to adjust the camera. I would still prefer that clip locks know they are closed and therefore less likely to end up in the unlocked position when adjusting the tripod. Bonus connection for all accessories such as reflectors, swivel or flexible mounts and more.โ€ Unfortunately, I didn't check the thread size of this accessory until I got the tripod. TRY to find a swing arm with a 3/8" thread. Vanguard doesn't even sell matching accessories, which I find a bit ridiculous. Maybe there is another tripod user who would fit a 3/8" tripod alongside the camera hardware, but other than that it's frustrating that I have to buy an adapter to use accessories on this one when they make it 1/4 could be " thread. Despite the small size, I paid good money for this tripod and the details are important. However, the materials used seem solid, the ball head works well so far. Fits well anyway, as I like the versatility of the center column in the comparison to others.
