After several weeks of use the leg opening mechanism on one of the legs stopped working. Two of the legs can be opened to allow the tripod to be lowered towards the ground, but one of them gets stuck in the closed position. Therefore, I can only use this tripod in a fixed position. I use an old Manfrotto metal tripod, a few inches taller and heavier, for real estate photography. I needed something smaller when folded but still with a sturdy support. The steep spots I can put this tripod on are really great, but when I push it higher with the main stand, even the 2 second timer isn't quite enough to stop at the tremor for a longer exposure shot with a DSLR .
