Very easy to assemble. Seriously, instructions aren't required, but they do have simple step-by-step visual and written instructions. The metal is very durable and the color of the plating is very attractive. I wanted green but it was out of stock at the time so I went with yellow. Any color will work in my house. Yellow is a pale creamy yellow, more neutral than a bright color. I love it and am now very glad I chose yellow. The sisal pad is durable and adheres well to the metal surface. It can be easily removed as it attaches with a simple hook and loop (Velcro) material. The height of the lamp is small, but it can be used as a table. If you choose to do this, there are clips to help keep the platform level. If your cat doesn't end up liking this scratching post, then it's still suitable for indoor or outdoor use. As a scratching post, it can remain upright. Best for use on a door or piece of furniture. Either a sisal mat can be placed on the floor in an open ring, or a metal tabletop can be placed low and the cat can scratch from that position. They include all options in the product photos! It is absolutely similar and works exactly like everything shown in the description and photos. This is exactly what I expected. Nothing looks cheap. Great attention to detail: stabilizer caps in the horizontal position and a leather element that also contributes to stabilization in the vertical position. Well, will your cat like it? This may take some time. I've sprayed some catnip on my catnip (you can see in the photo these are dark spots. It's just catnip and no damage to the product) and they haven't scratched it yet. So far, so good. I will update if necessary. Just look at the photos and description - if this all sounds good to you then you know this is what you need/should come.
