I was very excited at first, but it soon subsided. For some reason every external hard drive I have causes I/O errors when transferring large files. This includes the system backup. which is a HUGE problem. If I remove this right/left corner adapter, the problem goes away. When I/O fails, I can't even properly eject the drive to safely remove or access the USB. It just blocks the drive/port. This is likely the result of insufficient shielding or the material used to create multiple channels. This is just a guess (I'm an electrical engineer), but it's hard to imagine that such a short cable could cause such a problem unless it was actually a signal input/output for adjacent conductors. (Crosstalk) In any case, BOTH cables have the same problem, so it's unlikely to be a "you got a lemon" situation. Reliable.
