As others have pointed out, this laptop is plastic, cracks and breaks easily (this is my 3rd), doesn't insulate well and isn't anything special. That's why I prefer it to expensive and expensive solid wood laptops that I got as a gift. They're big, cumbersome (lousy travel companions), they're never there when you need them, and when they are, they're just too big, cumbersome (often with missing or faulty accessories), and awkward to use. Imagine being the preferred alternative to doing arithmetic on your own lap without a God-given table. The table pictured on my knees is just light (weightless, convenient), fast and convenient. And if you still take notes from time to time (some correspondents prefer them to text documentsโpoor handwriting is no excuse), then this is for you. The padding on the underside might not be enough, but it's adequate and it's securely attached to the plastic panel - no adjustment is ever needed. The only caveat is the price, which is double that of similar ones I've used (and the year of use is good). Then again, I haven't seen anything better for less money lately.
