Comfortable with lots of padding but...

I bought this helmet because of the Snell certification but I have a love/hate relationship with this helmet. It certainly looks good and the interior padding is solid. I really do look like a bobblehead in it, but I've got a huge bowler hat on my shoulders, so that's my destiny, I think with any helmet. It fits well and doesn't seem to surge much at highway speeds, and for a helmet, wind noise isn't too bad. The ventilation openings seem to be sufficient. Actually I should love this helmet, BUT NO. That's why. The inner lining does not stay in place. In particular, there is a channel in the forehead area into which the projections of the insert slide. There is some "glue" on these tabs to hold the liner in place, but they don't work. The balaclava does not snap in the front, so the balaclava keeps flying off when riding and removing the helmet. This doesn't give much confidence that it will provide the protection the helmet was designed for if the balaclava slips. See photo… On one the balaclava is visible immediately after removing the helmet, on the other after putting it on. Also, the latches on the cheek pads seem to slip and misalign in their slots, which need to be reinserted and refastened. I had to do this three times in the three months I had. Helmet. I can fit my Cardo 4+ in it very well and it's otherwise comfortable to wear, but the fact that the balaclava doesn't have positive snaps that lock it in the forehead area seems like a big oversight, and the snaps that are there They seem to come off easily by simply putting the helmet on and taking it off. This is very bad. I suspect I might be okay in an accident, but I'd rather not find out. I am looking at other helmets and will regret wasting my money on this Scorpion.
