it never worked properly. Salt readings were, and still are, much higher than readings taken at pool shops with calibrated salt meters. For example I visited 2 different pool shops and got the same reading today of 3400ppm while the tester reads 4500ppm. This also happens after carefully following the instructions in the user manual, recalibrating the tester a number of times, and recalibrating the tester a number of times with Calibration Fluid 3000. The same thing happens to Ph even after calibration. Their readings are consistently higher than chemical test methods using the Taylor test kit. I have contacted Lamotte several times but have not received a reply. They don't stand behind their product. I'm very disappointed considering I paid $200 for the tester.
