Doesn't power devices properly

I have an iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen). I bought this hub to connect my Blue Yeti microphone which needs power to work. The first thing I noticed was the power light on the mic blinking (as if the audio was muted), but then I noticed the little blue power light on the hub blinking in sync with this. I tested the mic with a different hub on my iPhone and it worked fine. This device appears to only be powered intermittently, which might be fine for charging an iPad or other phone/device, but definitely not suitable when you need full bandwidth like the Yeti.

Pros

With 2 USB 3.0 ports, you can connect a USB flash drive, hard drive, keyboard, mouse and other USB devices and transfer data at super-fast 5Gbps. Fast image/video access via USB3.0 port.

Cons

Not as thick as other options
